3 Companies that Implemented Enterprise Applications Successfully
Hello everyone, 😊
In this
upload we’ll be examining three examples of companies using enterprise
applications successfully. This may be a bit of a longer upload so hopefully I
don’t bore anyone!! Anyway, let’s get into the examples…
Walmart
Walmart’s business
model is based on offering low prices and services while utilizing strategies,
such as international expansion and everyday low prices. Walmart’s core
strategy is low price leadership, offering goods and services at competitive
prices. This has allowed them to become the largest retailer.
Walmart
uses several ERP systems, SAP, Oracle Financials and Business Intelligence,
Aprimo Marketing MRM and MCCM. Teradata is Walmart’s software provider, and
this is an efficient, inexpensive quality relational database system that
handles large amounts of data. Thanks to ERP and Teradata, Walmart has a
competitive advantage with their technology, while improving the efficiency of
supply chain management, enhancing integration, and sharing with suppliers.
Amazon
Amazon business
model is completely focused on the customer with its own logistic system, where
any person or company of any size can sell products. Their business strategy
focuses on customers, innovation, operational excellence, and long-term
thinking.
Amazon uses
SAP for their ERP system, who they switched to in 2008 when they found it
difficult to meet long term goals with their previous system. Amazon uses their
own service provider, Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS is used for cloud
computing and is one of the worlds most used cloud. Benefits of using AWS are cost
reductions, data protection, better availability and visibility, compliance and
security and performance improvements.
Microsoft
Microsoft’s
business strategy and model is based on three pillars: productivity and
business processes, intelligent cloud, and more personal computing.
Microsoft have
their own ERP system, Dynamic 365 ERP. This is a world-leading system and is
made up of a combination of CRM software and ERP software. This allows
Microsoft to store business data and customer insights. Microsoft uses their
own service provider called Microsoft Corp, and this is also known globally and
is the one of the largest vendors of computer software in the world.
Dynamic 365
ERP and Microsoft Corp improves decision making, helps identify issues before
they occur and improves productivity.
I hope this
has been an interesting insight into examples of well-known companies that have
managed to successfully instigate enterprise applications. EA’s can be hard to implement
and work with so it’s impressive how well these companies have done with it.
Well,
that’s all from me this week.
Until next
time,
Saoirse 😊
